The Clemson Tigers are simply on a roll on the recruiting trail. Yesterday, the Tigers picked up 4-star linebacker Jamal Anderson. Today, 3-star TE Markus Dixon committed to the Tigers.
Dixon had narrowed 24 offers down to 10 back in February. June 3rd, Dixon made a visit to Clemson, the Tigers offered, and the rest is history. His offer list included Oklahoma, Oregon and and Texas ATM. He had narrowed it down to a final recently that included Oklahoma, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Texas A&M, and Miami.
“Listed at 6-5 230. Athletic, physical TE with very good overall size at this stage and a frame to add good body mass. Displays the ability to put his hand in the dirt or align in space. Runs well with good hands, big catch radius, and runs good routes. More than a willing blocker. Has the physical/athletic trait for real upside.” —- Tom Luginbill, National Recruiting Director, CFB Analyst, ESPN/ABC, SiriusXM host.
Dixon, from Warminster, PA, is ranked as the #12 player in the state of Pennsylvania and the #24 tight end in the country.
Clemson jumped Louisville in the 247 recruiting rankings, now ranked 7th in the country, right behind Ohio State. With an additional commitment possibly coming Wednesday, June 15th, the Tigers could jump as high as #2 in the country. Remember how much Clemson’s recruiting was going to suffer with the loss of Brent Venables, Tony Elliott and Todd Bates?
