Clemson picked up a big commitment today from 4-star Defensive End Jihaad Campbell. The IMG star out of Florida, 6-4 220, is ranked as the 7th best edge rusher in the 2022 class and the #18 player in the state of Florida.
Campbell recently transferred from Timber Creek Regional High School in Erial, New Jersey. While there, he registered 45 tackles and 7 sacks in a 7-game season. He also played wide receiver, hauling in 15 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns.
The talented defensive end becomes the 8th commitment in the 2022 class, and the 3rd commitment on the defensive side of the ball. He is joining 4-star secondary players Sherrod Covil and Toriano Pride.
“Campbell is basically an outside linebacker with natural pass rush instincts. He is really gifted off the edge as a DPR (designated pass rusher). Campbell plays fast and with a high motor; very sudden athlete given his size.” — Tom Luginbill, National Recruiting Director, CFB Analyst, ESPN/ABC.
