Lavonta Bentley is one of the most sought after players in the Yellow Hammer state of Alabama, the 4 star product of Birmingham ( Jackson Olin high school) has a who’s who of offers to choose from for his college destination.
Just recently Bentley returned to Clemson for a weekend visit with family in tow and for the first time spent and extended period on campus for this over night unofficial visit.
We spoke to Lavonta after his return home, and he told us all about his visit and interactions with coaches while on campus.
When we asked how the trip to Tigertown went he told us “The visit went good , coaches were hyped about seeing me again”. After arriving on campus and acclimating, Levonta got some face time with Coach Brent Venables . . . “me and coach Venables watched film on drills and stuff for about 3hrs” . . . Then it was off to get some fuel for the bod as they “Ate really good While down there” . . .
CSN asked the bama backer if he saw anything new this time, and what did he do most of the time and he replied. . . “pretty much didn’t see anything else but hung around more players” . When asked about his relationship with Coach Todd Bates who recruits the state of Alabama as his territory Lavonta said. . . “Me and coach Bates is tight, he checks up on me mostly every day, or other day he won’t miss a week without talking to me and getting my thoughts”
When asked to discuss Coach Venables and how he calls his defense . . .“coach Venables is that he hyped and makes the game fun I think he can coach any position on the field that’s how much he knows about football and how he loves the game”
And we tossed out there, if he planned on a return visit anytime soon . . . ” yes sir, I will be at the All In Cookout with most of my family coming” Finally, we asked Bentley who is his favorite player NFL/NCAA and who he models his game after. . . ” my favorite player is Reuben foster”
