Fourth ranked Clemson comes into Saturday’s contest rolling at 8-0 and looking to enjoy and appreciate “Military Appreciation” day in Clemson and treating their guest for the day, the Terriers of Wofford like a close action drill. In other words like precision of a watch the Tigers who out man the team from nearby Spartanburg so bad, it could start the 3rd teamers and win with no issue. So expect the Tigers to empty their bench today and play every available player. If you are coming to see the Tigers “Stars”, well its gonna be quick so get your fill of TL16, ET9, and the rest of the gang quick… Cause this bunch will exit this game as early as mid 2nd quarter on this afternoon. The Terriers are not built to play “catch up” football with their triple option offense. So expect to see the Tigers take a quick early lead and keep pouring on the points… this will continue when Chase Brice and that second team comes in looking for their opportunities and they will strike the orange painted endzone plenty on their own. Wofford knows this is a paycheck game and one they never expect to win.. They just want to compete and play hard an show effort that lets them leave Memorial Stadium knowing they came into the Valley of Death and gave it their all. Just on this day they would be outmatched by a superior force.
When Clemson Has the Ball: Remember one thing on this day. BUY A PROGRAM you are going to need that numerical roster in front of you all day. As Clemson will have its way with this undermanned Wofford defense. Now they are salty bunch and will compete hard in the trenches.. But the back seven is where the Terriers will get abused all day. Look for TL16 and ET9 to get theirs in a quick hurry as the reserves pour onto the field in droves. This day will see the Tigers score with frequency and in big ways as you can expect a bevy of “Big Plays” in this one. Wofford will wear down fast and this one ends as expected with a ton of Clemson points and the benches emptied to get everyone snaps in this one.
When Wofford Has the Ball: the Terriers come in with their triple option and multiple formation and look to face a Clemson defense that has played lights out all season long. The Tigers allowing only 11.3 points per game and exceedingly better than expected coming into this 2019 campaign. The defensive front will be tested by this misdirection offense and discipline and gap entegrity are paramount when defending any option oriented offense. Tyler Davis, Nyles Pinckney, and Jordan Williams will have to literally stand their ground and allow the linebackers and defensive backs to come in and fill the gaps and secure the edge. As was the case with the offense. Look to your roster and try and keep up as the second half of this game should be a hoot in just keeping up with the players in Purple getting snaps.

Clemson: Will Spiers is having a great senior season averaging now 43.1 per punt.. BT Potter is now 7/12 on the season with 2 kicks of over 51 yards.
Wofford: Luke Carter handles both of these duties for the Terriers … As a FG kicker he is on the season 6/8 with a long of 44 and averages 39 yards per punt.
