Clemson comes into this week’s contest with the Blue Devils with a perfect 10-0 regular season mark along with an unblemished 7-0 inside the ACC. Duke comes in 7-3 and 3-3 in conference play. With Clemson celebrating both Military Appreciation Day and Senior Day both on the same date. Look for the Tigers and its Senior class all clad in purple to try and finish the ACC regular season schedule without a blemish
When Clemson has the ball:
Duke’s defense which is well coached and blitzes with a regularity. But on this date Trevor Lawrence who completes 71% of his passes when blitzed and has 8 of his league-leading touchdowns in such situations. Look for the Clemson offense to open up on this cold evening inside Death Valley. The Blue Devils will not be able to hold back the Clemson offense and it will run and pass with ease the entire evening. Look for Lawrence to surpass 250 yards and at least 2 TD passes and Travis Etienne to add over 125 rushing yards and a score of his own. Duke’s defense has no answers on this evening.
When Duke has the ball:
Clemson defense is led by a Senior led defensive front that will be trying their best to stop the Duke Quarterback from becoming the dual threat he was last week in the Blue Devil’s win over UNC. But this is not the Tar Heels defense and this Clemson defense which is tied for #1 scoring defense in the nation will impose its will on the Duke offense. The Corral will bet set on the Daniel Jones and the Duke offense musters a few points on the Tiger reserves later in the contest. But just like on the offensive side of the ball it’s a one-sided affair here too. As Duke tries to play keep away and ball control with its pro-style offense. Playing right into Brent Venables hands. #17
Duke Players to watch: #17 QB Daniel Jones, #82 WR Chris Taylor #34 MLB Ben Humphreys
Prediction: Clemson 49 Duke 10
