Clemson’s Jacob Bridgeman Headlines 2021 All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Clemson’s Jacob Bridgeman is the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year and leads the sport’s 2021 All-ACC Academic Team announced Thursday. The Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is named after Rod Myers, Duke’s men’s golf coach from 1973-2007.
A junior management major from Inman, South Carolina, Bridgeman won two stroke play events in 2021, finished fourth in the ACC with a 70.1 stroke average, and helped lead the Tigers to the ACC Championship with two individual match play victories. In nine stroke play tournaments, Bridgeman posted six top 10 finishes, including wins at the season-opening Camp Creek Invitational and the Palmetto Intercollegiate. Bridgeman was named second-team All-America by Golfweek.
Louisville, Notre Dame and Virginia led all programs with four golfers on the academic team, while Clemson, Duke, NC State, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest had three each. Six student-athletes – Clemson’s Bridgeman and Turk Pettit, Duke’s Ian Siebers, North Carolina’s Austin Greaser, NC State’s Maximilian Steinlechner, and Wake Forest’s Michael Brennan – earned selection to both the All-ACC Team and the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards were established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports. Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team. The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July. 2021 Rod Myers Scholar-Athlete of the YearJacob Bridgeman, Clemson 2021 All-ACC Academic Men’s Golf TeamJordan Warnock, Boston College, Gr., ManagementJacob Bridgeman, Clemson, Jr., Management Turk Pettit, Clemson, Sr., Parks, Recreation, & Tourism Management Zack Gordon, Clemson, Jr., Parks, Recreation, & Tourism Management Ian Siebers, Duke, Fr., UndeclaredAdrien Pendaries***, Duke, Sr., SociologySteven DiLisio**, Duke, Gr., ManagementFrederik Kjettrup, Florida State, Fr., NFA-Sport ManagementConnor Howe, Georgia Tech, Sr., Business AdministrationTrevor Johnson, Louisville, Sr., Sport AdministrationJohn Murphy**, Louisville, Sr., MarketingMatthias Schmid***, Louisville, Sr., FinanceJiri Zuska, Louisville, Jr., Sport AdministrationRyan Gerard, North Carolina, Sr., Economics/GeographyAustin Greaser, North Carolina, So., Statistics & AnalysisMaximilian Steinlechner, NC State, So., Business AdministrationEaston Paxton, NC State, Sr., Sport ManagementCarter Graf, NC State, So., Business AdministrationPalmer Jackson, Notre Dame, So., Business AnalyticsTaichi Kho, Notre Dame, Jr., MarketingTucker Clark, Notre Dame, Fr., MarketingAndrew O’Leary**, Notre Dame, Jr., MarketingPietro Bovari, Virginia, So., UndeclaredGeorge Duangmanee, Virginia, Fr., UndeclaredChris Fosdick, Virginia, Fr., UndeclaredAndrew Orischak**, Virginia, Gr., CommerceConnor Burgess**, Virginia Tech, Sr., Management – Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology ManagementCameron Moore, Virginia Tech, Jr., Business Information Technology – Operations and Supply Chain ManagementDaniel Azallion, Virginia Tech, So., Finance – Corporate Financial ManagementMichael Brennan, Wake Forest, Fr., UndeclaredEric Bae****, Wake Forest, Gr., Business ManagementParker Gillam, Wake Forest, Sr., Communication*denotes number of All-Academic Team honors
