Howard had originally planned to make his commitment prior to the first signing day. Having another year to play in high school, he probably was not ready to announce. Howard had originally narrowed his choices down to 12 schools. Clemson was not on that original list.
As a junior, Howard was a two way player, hauling in 13 receptions for 172 yards and three touchdowns. As an edge rusher, he was in on 50 tackles, including eight tackles for loss and adding six sacks.
